INITIATING PHASE:
LANGA PEOPLEIZE WOBUNTU COMMUNITY PROGRAM – February 1, 2024
Langa History:
Langa is a historic suburb located in Cape Town, South Africa. It was one of the designated areas for Black Africans during the apartheid era and is the oldest such suburb in the city. Langa played a significant role in the resistance against apartheid and was home to many prominent anti-apartheid activists. Today, Langa is a vibrant community that celebrates its rich history and culture while also striving to overcome the challenges of poverty and inequality.
Join us in supporting the LANGA PEOPLEIZE WOBUNTU AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM, a new pilot program starting in July 2023 at Siyabulela Primary School. With your donations, we can provide educational and enrichment opportunities, including dedicated homework time, computer enrichment, sports, arts, and cultural activities. By supporting our program, you can make a significant impact on the success of the program and help to increase it for 6 to 17 year old and other Langa schools. Let’s work together to make a difference in the lives of our future leaders!
Join us in building the LANGA PEOPLEIZE WOBUNTU CENTER, an eco-friendly facility that will include a wellness center with showers, toilets, and beauty services for surrounding shelters. Your donation will help create a bakery, laundromat, cafe, co-working space, classrooms, job training, and community areas, all run by new local Do-It-Yourself businesses. Let’s work together to support the community and create a brighter future.
Donate to the Do-It-Yourself food truck bakery, cafe & laundromat to provide essential services to the Langa community. Their goal is to provide healthy and affordable food to those in need. By making a donation, you can help them achieve their mission and make a significant difference in the community. Join us in supporting this initiative and help create a sustainable community for those who need it most.
We use donated funds to build a water collection and treatment system that serves the facility and adjacent buildings, promoting water preservation and treatment. By creating new local Do-It-Yourself businesses within the community to install and maintain these systems, we provide job opportunities and training in water preservation and treatment. Join us in creating a sustainable future.
